Description

Hibiscus Tea Made from Dried Hibiscus Flowers

Hibiscus Tea is prepared from the dried flowers of Hibiscus sabdariffa. The infusion develops a vibrant red colour and a distinctive fruity, tart flavour. Gentle berry-like and slightly tangy notes give this loose leaf tea its characteristic taste.

The dried hibiscus flowers can be brewed on their own or added to homemade tea blends. They combine particularly well with rosehip, apple pieces, orange peel, mint and different berries.

What Does Hibiscus Tea Taste Like?

The flavour is fruity, pleasantly tart and slightly tangy, with notes reminiscent of red berries. The quantity of flowers and the steeping time influence the intensity of both the colour and the flavour.

For a softer blend, combine the flowers with apple pieces, berries or other naturally mild ingredients. Even a small quantity can add a noticeable fruity note and a deep red colour to a tea mixture.

Dried Hibiscus Flowers for Tea

This product contains dried and cut hibiscus flowers. Unlike finely ground powder, the pieces can be removed easily with a tea strainer after steeping. This creates a clear infusion and allows you to adjust the quantity according to your taste.

The loose flowers are suitable for a pure infusion as well as for creating your own fruit and herbal tea blends. Their distinctive colour and flavour make them a versatile ingredient for individual tea creations.

How to Prepare Hibiscus Tea

Use approximately one to two teaspoons of dried hibiscus flowers for 2–3 dl of water. Pour freshly boiling water over the flowers and allow the infusion to steep for five to eight minutes. A longer steeping time creates a stronger red colour and a more pronounced tart flavour.
