Honeybush tea from South Africa
Honeybush also comes from South Africa and has a character similar to Rooibos. Its flavour is mild, smooth and slightly sweet, with a delicate note that reminds many people of honey.
You can enjoy Honeybush on its own or choose blends with fruits, spices, vanilla or floral ingredients.
Red bush tea and Rooibos
The terms red bush tea and Rooibos are often used for the same type of infusion. It is made from the leaves of the South African Rooibos plant. Depending on the processing and the blend, the flavour can be mild, smooth, fruity or spicy.
Preparation
For one cup, use about 1–2 teaspoons of infusion per 200 ml of water, depending on the variety. Pour boiling water (100 °C) over the blend and let it steep for 5–8 minutes.
If you prefer a stronger flavour, you can extend the steeping time slightly or use a little more of the blend. These infusions usually remain pleasantly smooth even after a longer infusion time.
