Description
Hibiscus Tea – fruity-tart hibiscus infusion with a bright red colour
Hibiscus Tea stands out with its intense fruity-tart taste and bright red cup colour. The dried hibiscus flowers create an aromatic infusion that can be enjoyed pure, cold as iced tea or used as a base for your own fruit tea blends.
In taste, hibiscus tea is reminiscent of red berries, with a clear tartness and a slightly herbal note. This makes it a good match for fruits, herbs, mint or citrus notes. Hibiscus can also be used in punches, desserts or your own tea creations.
Hibiscus flowers for tea
Our hibiscus flowers are dried and ideal for preparing hibiscus tea. During infusion, the flowers release their intense red colour and naturally fruity-tart aroma into the water.
You can prepare hibiscus tea pure or combine it with other ingredients. Hibiscus pairs especially well with rosehip, apple pieces, orange peel, mint or berries.
Hibiscus tea taste & aroma
Hibiscus tea tastes fruity, tart, fresh and slightly herbal. Its red cup and berry-like aroma make it a popular ingredient for fruit tea, iced tea and colourful tea blends.
If you prefer a milder taste, you can combine hibiscus with sweeter ingredients such as apple pieces or berries. For a fresher version, orange slices, lemon peel or mint work very well.
How to prepare Hibiscus Tea
For one cup of hibiscus tea, use about 1–2 teaspoons of hibiscus flowers per 200 ml of water. Pour boiling water at 100 °C over the flowers and let the tea steep for 5–8 minutes. The longer the steeping time, the more intense the colour and taste.
For hibiscus iced tea, prepare the infusion a little stronger, let it cool and serve it with ice cubes. If you like, add orange slices, fresh mint or berries.
