Description
Roasted Yerba Mate Tea – Pleasure from the Brazilian Holly
Experience our roasted mate – harvested from the leaves of the Brazilian holly. The roasting gives it a warm, nutty note that is particularly versatile.
Tradition meets modern enjoyment
Roasted mate is traditionally prepared in a calabash and drunk with a bombilla – a ritual with centuries of history. But this tea can also be wonderfully enjoyed in a regular cup or teapot. The aromas unfold just as well, and you don’t need any special equipment to enjoy this special type of tea. If you still fancy the classic mate experience, you’ll also find the right accessories with us.
Versatile and enjoyable
This mate is ideal for the morning or as a mindful break in the afternoon – many tea drinkers appreciate its characterful taste and that it contains caffeine.
Roasted Yerba Mate Tea – Preparation and Enjoyment
For the full flavour, we recommend a water temperature of 80–90 °C. Boil the water and let it cool for about 5 minutes before pouring it over the tea.
You can prepare the roasted mate traditionally in a calabash with a bombilla – or simply in a cup or pot. Add about 1–2 heaped teaspoons per cup (200–250 ml) to a tea strainer or filter and let the tea steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Depending on the steeping time, the flavour becomes stronger or milder – try out what tastes best to you!
An aromatic experience
Roasted mate is also excellent as a base for your own creations. Combined with herbs, spices or fruit pieces, you can discover exciting new flavours. Let your creativity run free!
Our recommendation
The aromatic base is excellent pure, as a blend or prepared traditionally. This way you can vary according to your taste. Enjoy tradition and modern tea pleasure in one cup.
