Description
China Gunpowder Green Tea – strong, tart and traditionally rolled
China Gunpowder Green Tea is one of the well-known green tea specialities from China. Its name, “gunpowder”, comes from the tightly rolled tea leaves that look like small pellets and slowly unfold during infusion.
This special processing helps preserve the aroma. In taste, Gunpowder green tea is strong, tart and spicy, with a fine smoky note. This makes it suitable as a pure infusion, but also as a base for Moroccan mint tea with mint and sugar.
Gunpowder green tea from China
Gunpowder is a traditional green tea from China and one of the best-known rolled green teas. Its compact, pearl-like leaves open in hot water and create an intense infusion.
Our China Gunpowder Green Tea is ideal if you enjoy a strong green tea with clear tartness and a slightly smoky character. If you like expressive green teas, this tea is a good choice.
How to prepare China Gunpowder Green Tea
For one cup of Gunpowder green tea, use about 1 teaspoon of tea per 200 ml of water. The ideal water temperature is 75–80 °C. Let the tea steep for 1–2 minutes. This creates a strong, tart infusion with a fine smoky note.
If you prefer a milder cup, shorten the steeping time or use a little less tea. China Gunpowder Green Tea can also be infused several times. Each infusion brings out new taste nuances.
