Description
Green rooibos tea – mild, fresh and naturally caffeine-free
Green rooibos is the unfermented version of classic rooibos and comes from the Cederberg region in South Africa. Unlike red rooibos, it is not fermented, which preserves its mild, slightly grassy character with a gentle natural sweetness.
This tea is a great choice for anyone looking for a smooth, caffeine-free herbal tea. It is suitable in the evening, for sensitive tea drinkers or simply as a light and refreshing option during the day.
Naturally caffeine-free with a fresh taste
Thanks to careful processing, the natural character of the rooibos plant is preserved. Green rooibos contains no caffeine and offers a clean, fresh flavour. Enjoy it on its own or as a light iced tea.
Our green rooibos comes from controlled cultivation and contains no additives or flavouring.
How to prepare
For the best result, use 1–2 teaspoons (approx. 2 g) per 200 ml of water. Pour hot water at 90–95 °C and let it steep for 5–8 minutes.
Green rooibos can steep longer without becoming bitter. The longer it steeps, the more flavour develops.
A slightly more delicate preparation
Compared to classic rooibos, green rooibos prefers slightly lower temperatures. Around 90 °C helps to highlight its fresh and light notes.
Traditional preparation
On South African farms, rooibos is often simmered in a pot for 10–20 minutes and then strained. This creates a more intense and aromatic infusion.
