Nilgiri tea from the mountains of South India
Nilgiri tea is grown in southern India and is known for its clear cup colour and fresh, aromatic profile. Compared with strong Assam teas, Nilgiri often feels a little lighter and more floral, while still keeping its own character.
The leaf grade OP stands for Orange Pekoe and describes a classic leaf grade in black tea. This tea is a good choice if you are looking for an aromatic black tea with clear structure and fine freshness.
Nilgiri OP Parkside taste
Nilgiri OP Parkside tastes fresh, soft, lightly floral and gently spicy. The copper-coloured cup is clear and balanced. Depending on steeping time, you can prepare the tea milder or stronger.
How to prepare Nilgiri black tea
For one cup of Nilgiri tea, use about 1 teaspoon, approx. 2 g, per 200 ml of water. Pour hot water at 90–95 °C over the black tea and let it steep for 3–5 minutes. After 3 minutes, the infusion stays finer and fresher; after 5 minutes, it becomes stronger.
If you want to drink the tea with milk, you can use a little more tea or let it steep longer. For a cold version, prepare it as usual, let it cool and serve it with ice cubes.
