Orange Peel for Fruity Tea Blends and Cooking
Orange peel adds a fruity, slightly bitter citrus note to tea, herbal infusions and homemade blends. It can be used on its own as an infusion or combined with herbs, fruits and spices for a rounder flavour.
For one cup, pour hot water over 1–2 teaspoons of orange peel and let it steep for 6–10 minutes, depending on the intensity you prefer.
Orange peel in tea and herbal infusions
Orange peel pairs well with fruit teas, herbal teas and spice blends. It works especially nicely with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, apple pieces, rosehip or hibiscus.
Its citrus aroma brings freshness to your blend without overpowering the other ingredients. This makes it a useful ingredient if you like creating your own loose tea mixes.
A citrus note for the kitchen
Orange peel can also be used in baking, desserts, muesli, sauces, marinades or homemade spice blends. A small amount is often enough to add a natural orange note to sweet or savoury recipes.
