Description
Rosehip Tea from Rosehip Shells with a Fruity Flavour
Rosehip shells are a classic base for rosehip tea. They bring a fruity, slightly tart flavour to the cup and can be enjoyed on their own or used in homemade blends with fruits, herbs and spices.
For one cup of rosehip tea, pour hot water over 1–2 teaspoons of rosehip shells and let them steep for 8–10 minutes. Depending on your taste, you can use a little more or extend the steeping time.
Rosehip tea on its own or blended
Infused on their own, rosehip shells create a fruity tea with a pleasant tart note. If you enjoy blending your own teas, they pair well with hibiscus, apple pieces, orange peel, cinnamon or ginger.
Rosehip shells can also be used for cold tea preparations. Prepare the infusion as usual, let it cool and serve it with ice cubes or fresh fruit.
Rosehip shells in the kitchen
Besides tea, rosehip shells can be used in simple kitchen ideas. They work well in fruit compotes, jams, syrups or homemade drinks and add a fruity note to sweet recipes.
