Ceylon Black Tea – a classic with history

Ceylon Black Tea has a long and fascinating history dating back to the 19th century. The first tea plantations in present-day Sri Lanka were established by the Scottish planter James Taylor and laid the foundation for one of the world’s most famous tea origins.

Today, Ceylon tea is appreciated worldwide for its distinctive aroma and balanced character.

Tea from the highlands of Sri Lanka

The finest Ceylon teas grow in the highlands of Sri Lanka at elevations above 1,200 metres. The special climate and fertile soils give the tea its fresh, aromatic and slightly lively flavour.

Enjoy it your way

Ceylon Black Tea can be enjoyed pure or refined with rock sugar according to your taste.

For a traditional British tea experience, add a splash of milk or experiment with plant-based alternatives.

Combine with spices and ingredients

This black tea also pairs wonderfully with spices and ingredients such as cinnamon, ginger or cardamom.

Try different combinations and discover your personal favourite preparation.

Preparation Ceylon Black Tea

Pour boiling water over the tea leaves and allow the tea to steep for 2–3 minutes.

If the leaves are broken into smaller pieces, a shorter infusion time of around 1 minute is recommended.
