Description
Encosta de Bruma – tea from the Azores
Encosta de Bruma – Azores green tea – is one of the finest green teas from the traditional Gorreana plantation on the Azores. Only the tender bud and the first leaf of the tea plant are picked for this tea. This careful selection makes it a true rarity.
Origin & uniqueness – Encosta de Bruma – Azores green tea
The plants are almost always surrounded by mist. This protects the leaves from strong sunlight and helps preserve their delicate aroma.
Harvest takes place from late July to early August. During this time, rainfall, humidity and temperature are perfectly balanced. The result is a green tea with a distinctive lightness.
Taste & character
In the cup, Encosta de Bruma appears in a light golden colour. Its taste is fresh, elegant and gently sweet. It feels smooth and balanced without ever being overpowering. This makes it ideal as a morning tea or as a relaxing companion in the afternoon.
Preparation recommendation
-
1 teaspoon per cup
-
Water temperature: 75–80°C
-
Steeping time: 2–3 minutes
This allows the tea to develop its fine balance of freshness and lightness without becoming bitter.
