Description

English Breakfast Tea Broken – strong black tea with a malty note

Our English Breakfast Tea Broken is a full-bodied black tea blend with Assam and Ceylon tea. The fine broken leaf structure creates an intense infusion with a strong, malty taste and spicy depth.

This English Breakfast Tea tastes classic on its own, but also works very well with milk or a little sugar. With its strong cup, it is a good choice if you are looking for an expressive black tea with traditional character.

What does Broken mean in black tea?

“Broken” refers to broken tea leaves. This leaf structure releases colour and flavour quickly during infusion. The result is a strong, intense cup – typical of many classic breakfast teas.

English Breakfast Tea with Assam and Ceylon

The blend of Assam and Ceylon tea combines malty, strong notes with a finely spicy black tea base. In the cup, the tea is dark, copper-red and full-bodied. The taste is strong, malty, slightly spicy and pleasantly rounded.

How to prepare English Breakfast Tea Broken

For one cup of English Breakfast Tea Broken, use about 1 teaspoon of tea, approx. 2 g, per 200 ml of water. Pour hot water at 95–100 °C over the black tea and let it steep for 3–5 minutes.

If you drink the tea pure, we recommend a steeping time of around 3 minutes. For a stronger infusion with milk, let it steep for 4–5 minutes.

Why English Breakfast Tea Broken?

  • Strong black tea blend – with Assam and Ceylon tea
  • Broken leaf structure – for an intense cup
  • Malty, spicy taste – full-bodied and classic
  • Pure or with milk – versatile to prepare
  • Copper-red cup colour – typical of strong black tea

Taste & aroma

English Breakfast Tea Broken tastes strong, malty, spicy and slightly sweet in the finish. The combination of Assam and Ceylon tea creates a balanced blend with depth and classic black tea character.

If you enjoy strong black tea, this tea fits well into your selection. You can drink it pure or round it off with milk, depending on how intense you like your cup.

English Breakfast Tea with or without milk?

You can enjoy English Breakfast Tea Broken pure or with milk. In Great Britain, English Breakfast Tea is often served with a splash of milk because the strong black tea base harmonises well with milk.

For a stronger cup with milk, we recommend a steeping time of 4–5 minutes. If you drink the tea pure, 3 minutes are often enough for a good balance of spice, malt and light sweetness.

Storage

To preserve the aroma, store the black tea in a dry, cool and dark place. Airtight packaging also protects it from moisture and strongly scented foods.
