How to prepare green tea

These teas usually prefer lower water temperatures than black tea. For many varieties, we recommend water at around 70–85 °C and a steeping time of 2–3 minutes. This helps keep the flavour fine, fresh and not too bitter.

The ideal preparation can vary slightly depending on the variety. Therefore, always check the instructions on the respective product page. For a milder cup, use a little less tea or shorten the steeping time.

Pure, blended or cold

Fine varieties taste especially clear when enjoyed on their own. Blends with fruits, flowers or herbs can add softer, floral or fruity notes.

For a cold version, prepare the tea a little stronger, let it cool and serve it with ice cubes. Depending on the variety, mint, lemon slices or apple pieces can complement the flavour.
