Description

East Frisian Tea with a strong Assam and Sumatra base

East Frisian Tea stands for strong black tea with a full-bodied, malty and spicy taste. Broken Blend Gold combines Assam tea with Sumatra tea and creates an intense cup with dark colour and clear black tea character.

This broken blend is a good choice if you enjoy a strong black tea. Assam brings body, depth and malty notes to the blend. Sumatra adds a spicy direction and rounds off the taste.

Taste of East Frisian Tea

The taste is strong, malty and full-bodied. The broken leaves release colour and intensity quickly during infusion. This creates a black tea with clear character that can be enjoyed pure, but also works well with milk, cream or rock sugar.

Broken Blend Gold with strong black tea character

Broken Blend Gold is a strong black tea blend made with broken tea leaves. Broken tea usually infuses faster and more intensely than large-leaf tea. This creates an expressive cup with plenty of body.

Assam tea is known for its fullness and malty direction. Sumatra tea adds a darker, spicy note. Together they create a broken blend with strong character and balanced taste.

East Frisian preparation with rock sugar and cream

East Frisian Tea is traditionally served with rock sugar and cream. First, place rock sugar in the cup, pour the hot tea over it and then carefully add a little cream. This creates the typical light cream cloud in the cup.

You can also drink the tea pure. Without cream and rock sugar, the strong black tea base is especially clear. Rock sugar makes the malty note softer, while cream gives the taste a rounder feel.

Preparation of East Frisian Tea

For preparation, use about one teaspoon of tea per cup or around twelve grams per litre of water. Pour boiling hot water at 100°C over the broken blend and let it steep for three to five minutes.

If you prefer a stronger cup, you can use a little more tea. A much longer steeping time can make black tea taste more tart, so a precise steeping time is recommended.

For traditional tea preparation

If you would like to prepare this tea in the traditional style, our rock candy stick is a good match. It adds a slow, gentle sweetness to the cup and works especially well with strong black teas.

If you enjoy strong black teas, our Assam Bari could also be interesting. It shows a malty, full-bodied black tea direction and also works well with milk or rock sugar.

Storage

To preserve scent and taste, store East Frisian Tea in a dry, cool and well-sealed place. Avoid direct sunlight, moisture and strong surrounding odours because black tea can easily absorb smells. This keeps the tea strong, malty and aromatic in taste.
