Make mulled wine at home
With this spice blend, you can easily make mulled wine at home. You only need red wine, some Mulled Wine Spices and sugar or another sweetener to taste. It is important to heat the wine slowly and not let it boil, so the taste stays rounded.
After steeping, pour the mulled wine through a sieve to remove the spices. Then serve it hot and garnish it with orange or lemon slices if you like.
Ingredients for mulled wine
- 1 bottle of red wine
- 2–3 tablespoons Mulled Wine Spices
- Sugar to taste, optional
- Orange or lemon slices for decoration, optional
Mulled wine recipe
- Pour the red wine into a pot and heat it slowly over medium heat. The wine should become hot, but it should not boil.
- Add two to three tablespoons of Mulled Wine Spices and stir well.
- Let the mulled wine steep for about 15 to 20 minutes over low heat so the spices can unfold in the wine.
- If you prefer it sweeter, add sugar to taste and stir until dissolved.
- Pour the mulled wine through a sieve to remove the spices.
- Serve it hot in cups or glasses and garnish with orange or lemon slices if desired.
Punch as an alcohol-free mulled wine variation
For an alcohol-free version, replace the wine with apple juice, grape juice, black tea or fruit tea. Apple juice creates a fruity and spicy punch that works well for cold days and winter recipes.
The spice blend can also be used in the kitchen. It adds a warm spicy note to red cabbage, compote, sweet-and-spicy baked goods, chutneys or winter sauces.

Preparation of punch with apple juice
- Pour the apple juice into a pot and heat it slowly over medium heat. The juice should become hot, but it should not boil.
