Azores Tea

Tea from the Azores by Chá Gorreana

Azores Tea comes from the Chá Gorreana tea plantation on the island of São Miguel in Portugal. The plantation is known for green and black tea with a distinct European origin.

The mild, humid climate of the Azores and the Atlantic location shape the character of these teas. If you want to discover tea from Portugal, this category offers a special alternative to classic origins from Asia or Africa.

Green and black tea from Portugal

Here you will find selected teas by Chá Gorreana, including Hysson Green Tea and Orange Pekoe Black Tea. Hysson has a mild, fresh and lightly tart taste, while Orange Pekoe is aromatic, soft and full-bodied.

Both varieties show how different tea from the Azores can be: from a clear green tea to a stronger black tea for pure enjoyment or preparation with milk.

Why choose this origin?

Tea from Portugal: grown on São Miguel in the Azores.
Chá Gorreana: traditional European tea plantation.
Two styles: green tea and black tea available.
Distinct taste: mild, fresh, aromatic and clear.
Special origin: European tea from the Atlantic.

Preparation

The preparation depends on the variety. For Hysson Green Tea, we recommend water at 80–85 °C and a steeping time of 2–3 minutes. For Orange Pekoe Black Tea, 90–95 °C and 3–5 minutes are suitable.

This allows the aromas to unfold well without becoming too strong or bitter. You can find the exact preparation details on the individual product pages.
