Description
Lemongrass Tea – cut lemongrass
Lemongrass Tea tastes fresh, citrus-like and pleasantly aromatic. The cut lemongrass is suitable for a pure herbal tea, for your own tea blends or as an aromatic ingredient in cooking.
Although the name reminds of lemon, lemongrass botanically belongs to the grass family. Its citrus-like taste comes from the natural aroma of the plant. This makes lemongrass popular for clear, fresh infusions with a natural citrus note.
Taste of Lemongrass Tea
Lemongrass Tea has a fresh, citrus-like and slightly grassy taste. The infusion is clear, aromatic and not too sweet. It suits anyone looking for a herbal tea with natural freshness and a fine citrus note.
You can prepare lemongrass on its own or combine it with other ingredients. It goes especially well with mint, ginger, green tea, black tea, hibiscus, apple pieces or orange peel.
Cut lemongrass for your own tea blends
Cut lemongrass is a popular ingredient for homemade tea blends. It adds a clear citrus note and gives herbal tea, fruit tea, green tea or spiced tea a fresh finish.
If you like creating your own blends, you can combine lemongrass with mild herbs, fruits or spices. This creates fresh tea ideas with a natural citrus character.

Lemongrass in cooking
Cut lemongrass can also be used in the kitchen. It suits Asian-inspired soups, curries, marinades or dishes with coconut milk. It is usually cooked with the dish and removed before serving.
Combined with ginger, chilli, lime or coconut, lemongrass adds a fresh aroma. This makes it interesting not only as tea, but also as a versatile ingredient for savoury dishes.
Preparation of Lemongrass Tea
For one cup, use about one teaspoon of lemongrass for 250 ml of water. Pour boiling hot water at 100°C over the lemongrass and let the tea steep for six to ten minutes.
For one litre, we recommend about fifteen to twenty grams of lemongrass. If you prefer a more intense taste, you can use a little more tea or extend the steeping time slightly.
Ingredients
100% cut lemongrass.
Matching teas and ingredients
If you enjoy fresh herbal teas, our Peppermint Tea is also a good match. For your own blends, you can also combine lemongrass with cut ginger.
Storage
Store Lemongrass Tea in a dry, cool, airtight and light-protected place. This helps preserve the fresh, citrus-like aroma for as long as possible. Also protect the lemongrass from moisture and strongly scented foods, as dried herbs can easily absorb odours.
