Pu-Erh

Fermented tea with a deep character

Pu-Erh Tea traditionally comes from Yunnan in China. Depending on the variety, processing and ageing, the taste can be mild, strong, earthy, soft or slightly spicy.

These teas develop their character through fermentation, storage and maturation. That gives each variety its own profile: sometimes smoother, sometimes darker, sometimes more intense.

Pu-Erh Tea from Yunnan

If you want to discover Pu-Erh Tea online, you will find selected varieties for different tastes here. For many products, you will find details about origin, form, taste and preparation.

This category is suitable if you are looking for a Chinese tea with a distinctive character and a deeper cup than many classic green or black teas.

Sheng and Shou

Pu-Erh is often divided into Sheng and Shou. Sheng ages more slowly and can taste fresher or more complex depending on its maturity.

Shou goes through accelerated fermentation. It often has a darker, rounder and more earthy taste.

Preparation

For many varieties, we recommend hot water and a steeping time of a few minutes. Depending on the tea, several short infusions may also be possible, with the taste changing slightly from cup to cup.

Please follow the preparation recommendation on the product page. You can then adjust dosage and steeping time to your taste.
